Anabolic Steroids – Side Effects

Loading ...Too many young persons turn to steroids without knowing all facts, often on advice of other users or friends. The information which they have is therefore in general incomplete, inexact and dangerous. Steroids are powerful narcotics which include serious side effects. Some of these effects not being immediately visible or being considered minor in the eyes of several, the consumers of steroids can have a wrong feeling of security.
Physical side effects:
- bleedings of the nose and pain in the stomach;
- high-pitched acne on the face and the body;
- loss of hair;
- development of breast;
- atrophy testicles and reduction of the production of spermatozoons, being able to lead to sterility and to impotence;
- damage in the liver and in kidneys;
- increase of blood pressure and cholesterol, being able to cause cardiac problems;
- premature fusion of the long bones, being able to cause a stopping of growth.
Psychological side effects:
- increase of aggressivity and explosions of anger, behaviour known under the name of ” Roid Rage “;
- serious and frequent sudden changes of mood;
- paranoia, sometimes source of violence.
Certain users take medicine to counter negative side effects of steroids, notably acne and hypertension. But it is necessary to know that these medicaments have, too, side effects, sometimes amplified when they are combined with steroids.
The AIDS
Steroids are taken by oral way or by injection. Among the young Canadian users who are injected, it assess at 7 500 the number of young persons who share syringes and vials. Every person who shares a syringe or a vial risks contracting diseases, notably hepatitis B and C as well as HIV, virus responsible for the AIDS. The AIDS is lethal and there is still no manner of curing it.
